Activation Question - Activate At Work, Synch At Home?

So my iPhone is arriving any minute. I wanted to activate it here at work, but my home computer is where I synch.

Can I activate it here and then synch/tie to my home computer to restore my backup of my old 3G?

Sorry if it's a stupid question...my third phone, and I know the first 2 were activated at the store...thanks.

Yes you can activate it at work ... you obviously just won't have any of your data. You can then take it home and backup from your old phone to restore all of your information.
