I preordered my iPhone X through Verizon. It will be delivered 11/3.
TBH I originally wanted to preorder from Apple because I heard it was easier. But I am so glad I went through Verizon instead. Question, I plan on running errands Friday (the day its delivered). I'm legally blind so I usually get my phone in store so that they can help me set up accessibility stuff and this is my first time preordering. So I plan on going to Verizon as well as Apple on Friday. Verizon for activation of my X and deactivation of my 7 plus. And Apple for accessories as well as Apple Care. But if I could cut those 2 trips down into 1 that'd be great.
Could either 1. I be able to activate my new phone and deactivate my old one from home? If so how?
Or, 2. If because I already have to go to Apple could they activate my new phone and deactivate my old one? Even though I got it through Verizon.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

You should just be able to turn on your new phone and it will activate automatically. Then you just stop using the old phone. I don't think you have to go to the Verizon store. You should hopefully be good just going to Apple.
