I'm a longtime iPod Touch user, first time iPhone user, and I'll activate my iPhone tonight after work. Can someone tell me, if activation takes a while--I'm porting my number from T-Mobile--will I be able to play with the device while I wait (minus the phone features, of course)? Or will it not work at all until AT&T activates it?

Activation usually takes <1 minute (mine took half a minute or so this morning), but porting can take a day or two IIRC. And yeah, activation only impacts phone- and data-related features; it won't prevent you from playing Cube Runner or the like ;)

Awesome, thanks! I just want to play with my new toy! If I have to wait a bit for the phone to kick in I can use my old one. :)

I'm not even sure if mine is working

it say No Service, and waiting for activation on the screen. =/
