Hi folks
First post here, not sure what the form is but card is behind the bar for anyone wanting a drink.
I've had my iMac for about a month and although I bought it for photography apps., I found Garage Band and wondered whether I could record my acoustic guitar into garage band using DI. The guitar is an electric acoustic Takamine circa. 1990 which has a built in pickup in the bridge which is powered by a 9V PP3 battery which lives inside the body of the guitar. In the past I've seen audio kit damage by inappropriate hook ups (don't ask) so I was wondering if it is safe to hook the output of the guitar directly to the audio input on the iMac? I spoke to someone in an Apple shop today and he has DI'd his active bass straight into a MacBook audio in, so I think it should be safe but if anyone could confirm it I'd be most grateful.
Cheers
Bill
