Active app on center top of watch screen

I hope I can explain this right. When I go for an outdoor run just me watch and BT headphones when I’m done I turn off music and close all recently opened apps on my watch via by pressing and swiping left on face all apps are gone when I go back to home screen why is the music icon still there? It seems the only way to get rid of it is to turn off watch and turn back on.

I've been having an issue with this as well, with iHeartRadio.

The only solution I've found is to close it on the watch, re open it on the phone, play something, stop it, kill the app on the phone, and usually that works...kind of annoying though....
