Active Old iPhone = Deactivate Discount

I remember when I first activated my iphone when the first one came out I was told to ignore the message that my Employer Discount will be taken away.

I know that the 3G isn't allowed to have the employers discount but if I active my old iphone will it really take it away? Or should I continue to ignore the message?
