Hello,

Today I apparently walked one mile ... while the phone mostly sat on my desk with occasional use for various reasons. This seems to happen a lot. What's up with the absurd inaccuracy of the activity data?

I really like the idea of this feature, but evidently it's far from trust-worthy. Is there a way to fix or improve it, e.g. via forcing it to use GPS data rather than whatever the heck it thinks it's doing now?

To be clear: I'm observing the "activity" portion of the "health" app. I don't have an Apple watch nor any other activity-related apps. (I do not want to use a data-slurping third-party app.)

Thank you.

It uses the accelerometer/gyroscope to estimate steps and movement of the iPhone can look like steps. GPS doesn't work (accurately) indoors. You are obviously picking up/using your iPhone a LOT more than you think.;)
