Hi I have a series 5 watch and I’m getting on with it great apart from the preset 30 minutes exercise in the activity module. For instance yesterday I took my dog on a 2 1/2 mile walk which took me an hour and it didn’t register one single minute of exercise. Now I know you’re supposed to go “briskly“ But I am a 63-year-old woman and I am not walking on flat terrain as it is beach (squidgy sand) and sand dunes up and down and uneven ground so there’s only so much speed I can get up also I like to enjoy my walk with my pooch! Bizarrely if I monitor my Pilates workout which is a very gentle sort of doing nothing work out it will register every single minute as exercise, this doesn’t really make any sense to me and I was wondering if anybody else was having this problem. Thanks Jan x

Have you tried the workout "outdoor walk open goal"? I use that whenever I go for a long walk. It logs the distance correctly and even maps out my walk using GPS. Sometimes misses a few minutes of heartrate data during the workout (assume that's because of fit and placement) but is generally very consistent day-to-day.

Hi thanks for replying. Yes I’ve been using that workout and I’m getting all the stats for it but it’s probably only allocating me about six or seven minutes out of 40 and as I mentioned, yesterday I didn’t get any at all 🙁

You might consider using the app “WorkoutDoors.” It is so much better than the stock activity tracking app. WoD consistently tracks activities and the user interface and metrics is easy to see and follow. It is a one time fee for the app. The developer is also very active on the forum. Many here use the app (including myself) and have been very happy with it.
