Would anyone have any idea on why network activity in activity monitor is having such a high and unusual data value?

I am currently backing up some data to the cloud, I have backed up about 1.2TB and activity monitor says I have backed up 1.61TB (The data has dropped down a few times, one day I was at 900GB uploaded and checked the next day and it was 720GB uploaded). I have a 21mbps upload speed and one drive says I am uploading at about 2.5 MBps (using a windows 11 virtual machine in parallels) while activity monitor says I am uploading at 9.8 MBps.

Shouldn't it be saying I am uploading at 2.5 MBps instead of 9.8MBps with maybe 1.3 TB of data or less?

I am running windows 11 via parallels and macOS 15.1 (Was going to update in about 3 weeks when all of the data is done backing up)

I think you may assume that Activity Monitor is quite exact, as it does not know about the nature
of the network transports: it only counts bytes.
