Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked but, is there anyway to have a perminate floating window that shows the system usage. It's an option that you can use while activity monitor is open.

Thanks

I use iStat Menu - it shows CPU usage in the menu bar. You can also show network and RAM usage, fan speed and various temperatures.

Here's a screen shot of the iStat Menus part of my menu. From left to right - RAM, fan speed, CPU temperature, network usage, CPU usage, calendar/clock.

that's pretty sweet. Does the app itself use a lot of cpu usage?? and does it have to be open in your dock for it to be working. I hate having a "menu bar application" while the apps icon is in the dock running.

iStat Menu installs itself as a Preference Pane, so there's no dock icon. It starts up on login. I see no appreciable resource usage (another screenshot).
