As my 2011 2.7 GHz i5 iMac with 12 GB RAM is optimizing and importing video, I checked the activity monitor and saw up to 130% in the %CPU column. What? I don't understand. FWIW, the CPU is only running at ~ 120°F so it's hardly breaking a sweat. Any ideas?

Aluminum iMacs have very good cooling, that's why their fans rarely rev up. The CPU is at that because it is using 100% of a single core's worth of power and an additional 30% of another core's power.
