Ok, here's a weird issue. Lion installed just fine. Everything working great since launch day.

I run a 2010 Mac Pro.....with an OWC SSD as the boot drive (with all the apps, etc in the 2nd opti bay), and 4 tradition HDDs in the drive bays. The SSD is working great...only about 35GB of 120GB used. Disk tests consistently in 250MB/s read/writes.

All other apps launch right away as usual with an SSD.

Lately, Activity Monitor will take 5+ bounces to launch. Once it launches....if I close it, and reopen right away, it opens with 1 bounce. However, if I wait a few minutes......and try to reopen, often it takes 5+ bounces again.

Anyone have a clue as to why this may be happening? This occurs even after a clean restart....no load on the CPU.

I'm repaired permissions, checked disks, etc.

Thanks.

Not sure why this is happening but its not as instant as i remember from SL now on Lion. On my i7 Quad core it took a few bounces to open the first time and then instant open the second time right after. :)

Thanks for the info. If you close it down and wait a while......does it cause it to bounce if you try to reopen.

Right now it's not really happening for me.....it's very sporadic, but noticeable when it does happen (especially on an SSD).

Could Activity Monitor be polling for info at the start?
