Activity Monitor: what to do with "crashreporterd"?

Been running the activity monitor while different apps are running to see how disc space and memory are affected. Came across crashreporterd. Should I leave this run or kill it and exactly what does it do?

Leave it running. As far as I know, it'll write crash reports for you in the appropriate log, if they occur.

It also throws up the 'Would you like to send this crash report to Apple' window. It's recommended that you always leave this running, it takes up very little memory and cpu, so it's not really worth it to kill it off. If you want to kill it off however, look in /Developer/Application/Utilities/ for the CrashReporter app, you'll need the developer tools installed.
