Activity on Apple Watch

I went for a hike yesterday for about 3.5 hours and used Outdoor Walk in Activity.

It’s really annoying how the watch will beep and ask if I want to end activity or pause every so often.
Is there a reason for this and can I stop these annoying interruptions?

I found the stock activity app to be rudimentary and lacking. If that is how you see said app, take a look at “WorkOutDoors.” It is miles above the stock app in features and UI. It is an excellent app.

I’m already a Strava, Garmin, TrainingPeaks and Zwift user, so another just adds to duplicates.
