Is anyone else having an issue when adding people to the Activity app? I have added four friends. Two shows their activity correctly and two are stuck at 0% everything.

They are able to see my activity so I'm thinking its a setting they have enabled. Can't seem to figure out which it could be though.

Are you sure your friends have already updated? Also this could take some time to sync up the first time.

Having even more problems with activity sharing. I have two friends, both are on iOS 10 and watchOS3. I can add them, they get the notification and agree and then NOTHING happens. The wheel in the activity app on iOS keeps spinning and spinning. Anyone experienced this?

Same here. I've given up until the next update.

Running into similar issues

I am seeing activity on my end and from other users, however they are telling me they show 0 for my activity on their end.

I have a message at the bottom of my individual activity "You may be sharing activity info from another device signed in to your iCloud account". I have previously had a SE with an account that I just erased and removed to see if that helped and nothing.

I'm also still getting this same result. iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 10.1, Apple Watch 1st gen running watchOS 3.1

That's disappointing. Has the other person also updated to iOS 10.1 and watchOS 3.1?

I was hoping this issue was fixed with the release notes making some mention of Activity Sharing fixes. :(

Yes, they have also updated software on both devices.

I tried to pair it with somebody who gets the infinite spinning wheel after accepting the invite in the past. Both on 10.1, but we haven't updated to watchOS 3.1 yet. If I send the invite, the infinite spinning wheel returns. If she sends the invite, now she just gets a message: "Couldn't Send Invitation. You can only share Activity with people who also have an Apple Watch."

Will try again after updating watchOS, but not feeling confident. How does Apple mess up something so simple?

I'm also having this issue, I'm wondering if it's related to a privacy setting.

Hi,

I was experiencing the exact same issues and I finally managed to make it work.

Issue:

1) I was sending -to my friends owning Apple Watch- activity share requests. Although they were accepting my requests, they were always displayed as pending in the sharing tab of my iPhone's activity app.

2) When I was sent Activity share requests, although I was accepting them I could never see my friends' activity (or for a very short amount of time before it was disappearing and seen again as a share request). My friends, however, would see my activity.

I unpaired and paired my Apple Watch many, (hard) rebooted it, rebooted my iPhone, reset it to factory settings many times without success.

It turns out that the issue was a iCloud related issue.

Back in the day I was a .Mac, then a MobileMe user and was logged into my iPhone with my @Mac address and with my @me address for both FaceTime and iMessage.

To fix the issue, I logged out of my Apple ID (@Mac), FaceTime (@me) and iMessage (@me) on my iPhone. I then logged back in using the @icloud alias of my Apple ID and -boum- it worked.

All my Friends shared activity now show up properly on both my iPhone and my Apple Watch.

My devices are an iPhone 7 Plus (iOS 10.2 beta 3) and an Apple Watch Serie 2 (Nike) (watchOS 3.1.1 beta).

Hope this help.

You're absolutely right, it's an Apple ID/iCloud issue. I fixed it through a slightly different method. Turns out my gmail address had been removed from my Apple ID. Not sure how this could have happened, as the gmail address IS my Apple ID. I re-added the gmail address to my Apple ID/iCloud account, and sharing now works. Thanks!

How did you re-add your email address to your Apple ID/iCloud? I'm also having activity sharing issues and using gmail address as my Apple ID login.

Settings > iCloud > Click your name/email address at the top > Enter password > Contact Information > Make sure your gmail address is there (my gmail address wasn't there, just my iCloud address). If the correct address is already there, possibly clicking the email address, clicking remove, then re-adding it, then verifying it may help. Hope this solves your problem!

Thank you so much for this! I created an account on here just so i could tell you that this worked for me too! I've spent a very frustrating few week googling, reading threads on here, ringing Apple and on the Apple community but could not get sharing to work - just kept getting the pending spinning wheel for all requests sent to my friends. My apple id log in name was an old email address i dont use anymore and was not listed as an actual email address on my iCloud account. I reactivated the email address (which was a btinternet.com one), added it to the Contact Information and now my activity sharing is working!! Very happy.

Glad it worked! I'm curious as to why this happens with Activity Sharing, but other things like Shared Photo Albums do not have this issue.

Thanks jaybarns. Turns out my contact info was correctly associated with my Apple ID but the friend I was trying to activity share with had an issue.

Seems like some bad Apple programming to me. I *think* the issue was that in my contacts I only had his @personal email listed but his Apple ID was only linked to his @work email. The annoying thing is we could send invites to each other through the Activity app (presumably via phone number ID instead of email address). On my end I would receive his invites but got an error every time I tried to accept. On his end he could accept my invites but it showed "--" for all my activity data. Somehow Apple was making a partial link between us but not a full working link.

Anyway, he added his @personal email to his Apple ID. We then deleted the prior invites and activity shares on both devices, sent a new invite, and all worked fine.

I'm in the same exact boat as you. When you logged out with your .Mac and .me accord and logged in with the iCloud did it cause any issues with your account? I'm worried about my iTunes and Family sharing being hosed if I do that.

Being myself the main account for Family Sharing on iTunes, changing my login to @icloud did not broke nor change all that I was sharing with my family. It's pretty safe on that side.

I still can't get mine to work. My email address is correct. I've unparied and paired my watch over 10 times and even went to the Apple store for help. They want to charge me the price of replacement just to send it in for software check. How can I fix this?

I finally fixed my issue. I removed an old email address associated with my Apple ID. I also removed some old devices that were associated with my ID. Then, I signed out on my iPhone and iPad. After signing back into my iPhone, activity sharing no longer gave me errors.

@treload you helped me out a bunch. Your recommendation helped me on this! Finally got the sharing to work with my friends & families!
