Hiked around 60 miles the last 5 days. Ran both activity and RunKeeper on my watch. Activity consistently came up with higher #’s of distance than RunKeeper. RK is my go to when I jog, and it is almost always spot on with my known distances. Is there a reason that the Activity on my watch/phone would inflate the distance? At one point is was almost a mile different over the course of 13 miles.

I had a similar issue when skating on a frozen lake. Selecting run or walk uses your steps to calculate distance. Runkeeper probably goes by GPS.

I select outdoor cycle now when skating and distance is always spot on.

To add, I don't like 3rd party apps since I've had the GPS tracking not work on more than one occasion. Seems to always work with the built in app.
