Note that ten years ago, an appointment scheduling program used to be a typical assignment/project for computer science college freshmen. I'm guessing that in 2013, this is now a high-school level project and that college students are expected of more sophisticated projects.

I haven't used it but I recall a client talking about how it was quite similar to Apple's Concierge software. http://www.scheduly.com/home.aspx
