My hard drive crashed on my 24" aluminum intel iMac. I did some research and decided to replace with solid state. I bought the OCZ Vertex 3 SATA III 6.0 Gb-s 2.5-Inch SSD and hoped the enclosed adaptor would work. It didn't. (I know I could have bought the 3.5 but the 2.5 was less $ and had good reviews). Now I understand that NewerTech has come out with an adapter that will work called AdaptaDrive.

Can anyone confirm this will work? I've searched all over the web and the advice is all over the place.

Thanks in advance.

It worked

Well I didn't get any responses so perhaps it just hasn't been done before. I went ahead and used the adapta-drive and it works great. The adaptor holes line up perfectly and no fit issues. I'm typing this on my 24" iMac with my newly installed solid state drive right now.
