I'm looking for adapters that would allow me to use my 2018 MBP with an sd card reader and I would need to be able to plug in my iphone and external hard drives.

But anything I've tried from amazon interferes with the wifi! Can you please please please recommend something that won't cut the internet?

Here are links to what I've already tried.

Thanks in advance!

What do they do? I have the HyperDrive Hub on my 15" 2018 MBP and have no issues with:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MUAEI7J/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

WiFi works fine, as do all the ports.

I bought a used one from Amazon Warehouse and it was like new and I saved $20. I know one other person who did the same thing and has no issues with WiFI either. The only issue I see is if I add a hard shell it would not plug in all the way.

I have a hard case on my MBP. So, I guess it won't work. :(

Does anyone have any other suggestions, please? I would really appreciate it!

I believe they lack proper ground shielding, widely known issue with usb 3 and 2.4ghz wifi that can cause interference.

I Think the official apple adapters are supposed to be properly shielded, if they interfere then I don't think much can be done.

OP:

Is it possible to set up the MBP so that it will always connect at 5ghz (instead of 2.4)?

If the Ap's are different names you can adjust the preferred order in wifi settings, dragging ap's in position on list. If they're the same name, it should in theory latch onto the better network and I don't think can guide it further.
