Hello all,
I just scored a B&W Powermac G3 and a 17 Studio Display (ADC CRT).
I haven't received them, but was so keen on the studio display that bought an Apple ADC to DVI adapter M8861 LL/B.
Realized after that the PowerMac G3 B&W doesn't have dvi ‍🤦‍♂️
My main objective with this G3 was to run OS9 and plug my 3dfx Voodoo 2 cards (which require a VGa passthrough cable from the main card) as can be seen here .
So from my understanding I would need a VGA Male to DVI female adapter.
Question nr1 - Anybody tried this kind of adapters with the Apple ADC to DVI adapter? Does it work?
Question nr2 - Do I need VGA Male to DVI female 24pin +1 or 24pin +5?

Thank you all

1. The Apple DVI to ADC adapter (A1006) does not work with ADC CRTs.

2. The Apple DVI to ADC adapter requires a DVI input, but these VGA-to-DVI adapters will not convert VGA to DVI. They merely map VGA to the analog pins of a DVI-I or DVI-A connector.

Thanks for the info. Wasn't aware. What a bummer.

The ADC CRT relies on the analog signal from the DVI port, which the A1006 DVI-ADC brick doesn't pass through.

IIRC, one of the aftermarket adapters does work with them.

I have two ADC CRTs, and pair them both with Cubes. I love that display, and the Cube seems a very natural aesthetic and functional pairing to me.

When you say aftermarket adapters, you are talking about the DR Bott Dviator or another one?
