I would like to know more about a rumour that I am not sure that is not that if you buy the ADC student plan for 99 dollars you get more than 300 in return.

Is that true?

Thanks, Kiko.

You get 20% discount on 1 hardware order.

You should get Leopard for free.(Its not explicitly stated you do)

You get a T-Shirt

You get a chance to apply to WWDC on a scholarship

Current version of OS X means the currently pressed retail DVD, which at this time is 10.4.6. When the next retail DVDs are pressed, i.e. 10.5.1, they should begin shipping to developers a few weeks after initial retail demand is met.

The discount isn't a flat 20% off anything. I ran some numbers, and if I recall, the program is only worth the $100 (not factoring in the cost of Leopard) if you're buying a Macbook or Macbook Pro.

You can get the exact prices under the discount by going to:

http://developer.apple.com/membership/usa.html

... and looking for the "ADC Hardware Purchase Program Store" link.

Oh, and if you will be getting Applecare, purchase that through the Education Store as it is cheaper there than from the Developer Store.

Its on my screen I wouldn't lie to you :D

Not saying you are but they lost a sale from me so if i could have got tiger now and then leopard in october they would have said that to make the sale.....as it was they said it wouldn't happen and thus lost the sale.

The discount is felt purchasing the MBP or the Mac Pros where the $100 ADC membership fee basically pays for itself and some in the discount. The discount is minimalized for consumer products such as the iMac, Macbook and Mini.

But can I use the Developer Store which is already 20% discount on mostly everything except software and accessories without having any paid memberships? If so, why would anyone else use the regular store and pay 25% more?
