ADC to DVI display adapter question

i just received a 17" apple cinema display, which works great outside of the power button in the lower right hand corner not functioning (my g5 turns it on automatically when the power button on the G5 is pressed). i want to use it for my pc and was thinking about purchasing a ADC to DVI display adapter. my question is this...if the power button on the monitor itself does not function, will the pc automatically turn it on once the power button on the pc is pressed? i know this is a mac forum, but i hope at least a few of you have used one of these with a pc before and can answer my question.
