Add a subdomain in apache

I have apache, php, mysql, and mysql admin setup, on my osx 10.8 machine. And I would like to add a subdomain. like hightek.localhost or something, similar to that. I would also like to know how to add that subdomain, to my mac mini server, running os x 10.7.4. If anyone, could help, Id be greatly appreciative.
