I know there are tons of posts on this put all the information is scrambled and all over the place. I would like to find out which wires I will be needing to connect A SSD to my iMac.

SSD I will be using - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227706

Do I need this

http://www.amazon.com/Slimline-SATA...qid=1354210208&sr=8-4&keywords=slim+line+sata

or

http://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-...354210291&sr=1-1&keywords=sata+power+splitter

I've also seen people saying they need a 90 degree sata cable too.

I would also like to include that I want to add the SSD to my computer and have a SSD+HDD combo. I do not want to remove the Optical drive.

Neither of the amazon cables is good.

You need this cable http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iMac-21-m...LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19d6a579bf&_uhb=1 with part number 922-9862.

It is the ssd power cable. You also need a sata data cable that will fit. I originally had a straight edge staa data cable that would not fit. Then I got a 90 degree sata cable which I used succesfully. Later I found another straight sata cable which had a shorter connector than the first one I tried and I believe would fit.

I got my SSD power cable from the above ebay seller. The installation is not very difficult if you follow this excellent video

So it is basically cheaper to go with the OWC than buying the the cable from ebay and the SATA, correct?

Right this moment this cable is not available in ebay so the other place you can get it from is OWC and their price is good...
