Add entire contents of desktop HD to MBP?

Okay so I have been meaning to put windows onto my MBP for some time now but I have never used bootcamp and know nothing about it. Well the windows desktop that I bought for my mom two years ago died and she already bought a new one. Well I took the hard drive out of it and I was wondering if I could use the windows that is on that hard drive to make a partion on my MBP? Is that even possible? Am I even making sense?

The bootcamp manual will walk you through the installation...

Basically you need a dvd with an acceptable version of windows on it (xp professional, vista, windows 7). If you have that just follow the bootcamp manual.

What I mean is, can I use the HD and only the HD to make a bootable partion on my MBP's HD?
