Is it just me or did 26 on the Mac just decide that adding different folders to the Wallpaper settings isn't a thing anymore.

It shows the ones I had before I upgraded but I can't find how to add additional folders. Just like, nope, hope you like to stick everything into photos.

Ugh! This entire redesign cycle has killed me this time.

It is here on 26.0.1

And then it disappeared in 26.1. Just had everything working fine, but when upgrading to 26.1 last night, there is no add photo for Wallpaper. Just a ? where my custom phot was. I created another admin user and then that function appeared. All the proper folders and files are in the library as it is supposed to be - just not in MINE.

Any suggestions to get the Your Photos back in the Wallpaper preferences?

hopefully, they sort this out. meanwhile, you can always add a photo from the photos app itself, from the share menu...

I wish, that doesn't work, neither dose rt click set desktop from the finder AND I can't even drag it to the setting. This is worse than the first time when I could at least drag it into the settings, and I had my custom wallpapers available as part of the wallpaper selections.......very un-Apple like

what doesn't work? i just opened photos, selected a picture, clicked on the share menu, chose 'set wallpaper'... and there's my picture, as the new desktop image. 👍

He's talking about setting a whole folder from the Finder as a source. Not a single image, and not images from the Photos app.

actually, he's responding to my post: "meanwhile, you can always add a photo from the photos app itself, from the share menu", then he says "I wish, that doesn't work, neither dose rt click set desktop from the finder".

we've already agreed about the rest 👍

My problem is that I've lost ALL methods of setting a custom wallpaper upon the latest upgrade to 26.1. In System settings under wallpaper, my entire folder with my desktop photos is gone and no way to add another photo or folder of photos there. In addition, the quick ways of adding/changing a desktop wallpaper photo such as dragging a photo to the wallpaper setting window and sharing to set wallpaper also don't work for me. They did before this upgrade.

But if I create a new user I can do all those things an the Wallpaper settings have the ability to add custom desktop photos and everything else works So that indicates i has something to do with a corrupted or relocated file(s) thatwas tied to the admin user. I guess I could just migrate to the new user, make "him" the admin and go through the entire process of making my mac look and behave as I gotten to it since my Apple IIe computer........

Any more detective work or suggestions is appreciated. If I can't copy a missing file or move something around, I am going to have to re-install the 26.1 and see if that helps or if the damage is already done.

BUT I can select a folder for the screensaver just fine.......
