Add info to Photos in iPhoto?

I need to add some comments/info to some of my photos and photos that I gather from other sources about their content and ownership. Is there a way to do this with iPhoto and if not is there a program that can?

There's a comments field in the info pane of iphoto. Use the "i" button to show the info pane. Sometimes the comments field is hidden so drag up (use the dimple) to resize the pane and the comments field will be revealed.

iphoto does have a comments field
