More info in the FAQ would be nice and it would stop people asking about whats after 601.
603 =>5000-10000 posts (I think)
604 =>10000-15000 posts
605 =>15000-20000 posts
G3 => 20000-25000 posts
G4 => 25000-30000 posts
G5 => 30000-35000 posts

I hope this information is accurate but somebody correct me if I am wrong.

You could gather a little more information on your own:
You might want to check iGary's title and post count and adjust your guesses.

Within a few months, mad jew is likely to pass one of the cutoffs you've posited, so you can watch for that.
However, to answer your question, the full list has never been publicized simply to make guessing and watching more fun.

Who else think's 1,000,000 posts title should be "UltimateMacRumorsSpammer™"?

Oh, and a billion is Steve Jobs

Oh, I like those...and they're awfully accurate. Those should be enacted ASAP...who knows when Mad Jew will hit those?:eek: :confused: ;)

Tuesday.

Actually, I think that after G5 and all the intels should come

"PowerBook G5"

but only if the poster crosses the mark on a tuesday

I wouldn't be surprised if the G4 windows is a little longer than most simply because the G4s were around for so long. As for finding the new cut-offs, I'm doing my best! :D

605 =>15000-20000 posts

P.S. There is no 605, is there? At least, 601 was the "gen one," and 603 was the "gen two," with G3 (gen three) being the 75x processors, the G4 being the 74xx, and the G5 being the 97x, right? So at least, Apple never used a 605 processor.

P.P.S. I still think we should switch to Digimon names.

Thanks mkrishnan for correcting me. So at at that point it should start as G3? So G3 is from 15000 to 25000 posts?

Kinda...

Code:
601 is 5,000 to 10,000.
603 is 10,000 to 15,000.
604 is 15,000 to 20,000.
G3 is 20,000 to a mysterious figure, that only a select few can fathom.

Thanks mad jew. So what is after G5 rank?

The Digimon is a "nevermind" joke. Sorry... just a history of repeated requests by certain members to change the ranking scheme to something irritating and not of interest to most of our people.

As for the what's after G5, essentially, the Core Solo / Core Duo line (which are not technically part of Intel's Core architecture) were briefly the next generation, although the "important" computers went straight to the Core 2 era.

But the ones that mad jew has already reached could be added to the list. So 603,604 and G3 could be added without spoiling the fun ;).
