I still have the older style 2008 LED MBPs where you have to remove the top of the laptop with jewelers screwdrivers and whip out the torx screwdrivers to replace the hard drive. A hassle, but no biggie.

Ram is easy on the older laptops.

How easy is it to do this on the new MBPs?

I think it's the same. I doubt internal design has changed so just open the case and switch the HD and RAM

On the newer unibodies?

Seems like I'm going to need trap doors of some sort?

Do I need to go under the keyboard or has Apple actually made it pretty easy to do both this time?

Thanks, those videos were perfect.

So, basically, the bottom is one large trap door. Pretty cool.

Yeah, and I think the new ones aren't different. Of course one wire can be red while it was green in previous gen but overall the surgery should be the same

Both RAM and HDD swaps are VERY easy using with the uMBP's. If you know how to take apart your pre-unibody MBP, you will have absolutely no issues.
