Add text to images (footnote like) in Pages

Hey all,

I am currently working on a report with quite a few images. To make it a bit easier to navigate I would like to add some text to them. Like assigning them with a number etc (Image 4.1 | Image 3.4 etc), right below the image itself.

I was hoping there was an easier way to do this than manually adding text areas below each image, is there?
