I bought a faulty 1tb TC off eBay, bad PSU, expecting to be able changes the caps myself. When I received it, it happened to fall in the range of serial numbers Apple put out the service announcement for. Took it to the Apple store, and they're replacing it for a new(refurb) one, although they had none in stock so its on order... Not bad for £20 eh?

Anyway, I'm sure its going to be a 1st gen they replace it with, so no dual band. I was debating whether to resell the refurb and buy a dual band one from the refurb section of the store...

I'm currently using an ADSL modem/router combo. It does B/G/N but only 2.4GHz. Would I be able to set the TC to 5GHz mode for A/N modes, and use my current gear as the main modem and B/G 2.4GHz network?

As much a I'd love the sim dualband one, I'll still need an ADSL modem so keep telling myself use what you have and enjoy £20 well spent!
