Here's the situation: 4 AirPort Expresses, in a WDS (Wireless Distribution System), used to broadcast music around the house. Mac mini is in the living room, upstairs in the spare bedroom there's an AirPort xpress with an Ethernet cable to a router (BT Home Hub for Internet connection), and a USB cable to a printer.

Now I want to add a 2nd printer, in the living room. I guess I could use a very long USB cable from the mini, but that's messy. I've spent 3/4 of a day trying to set it (a Lexmark 1400) up as a network printer and given that up (it kept stumbling over password). But hey look: this new printer is close to the living room AirPort Express BS. Can't I connect the printer to the USB socket on this BS?

Of course I did temporarily connect the 1400 direct to a USB socket on the mini, using Sysprefs, to get the Lexmark software loaded. But how can I use AirPort Utility to set it up on the living room BS socket?

Am I trying to tread new territory here?
