Is it possible to add a bluetooth dongle to an intel G5 that already has bluetooth built-in without much hassle.

I need 100m bluetooth, and have a 3Com dongle.

Seems to suggest something about turning off Apple Bluetooth 1.5

The dongle shown is the same as the one I want to install.

Thanks in advance.

in system prefs you can turn off the Apple bluetooth. I would do this before installing the dongle or any of the software. I don't see any problems as long as the Apple Bluettoth is off.

There is no such thing as an "intel G5." G5 is Apple's designation for a 5th-generation PPC-based Mac. The Power Mac G5 was replaced by the Intel-based Mac Pro. The iMac G5 was replaced by the Intel-based iMac.

Thanks for that....

Thanks for that, (especially to you MisterMe, but surprisingly, that had no bearing on anything).

Anyway, I did connect the dongle and everything was great, (didnt need any additional software) until I do a restart and then the internal bluetooth is coming on by default.

Any ideas as to how to select a BT dongle to be the default.
