I just bought an iphone for my wife. She is currently using Verizon. I want to add her to my line and port her # over. I was told two different things and don't want to screw this up when I activate it-
I called customer service and they told me to port her # over when I activated the new iphone. The representative didn't seem to think it was a problem but she didn't sound very confident either. I am pretty sure Verizon will kick this back if I am trying to transfer a # that is under my wife's name.
I went to a local at&t store and they told me that if I did it that way, Verizon would kick it back. They told me to activate it by adding a line to my current At&t account and get a temporary #. Once it is activated, take the iphone to an AT&T store and have them port her Verizon # over to replace the temporary #. They also said that when I added a line, it would give me the option to change to a family plan during the activation process.
Can anyone confirm or let me know which way I should go.
