O.K. I'm newer to Apples. I have an IMac and IPhone. I then bought a new Airport Extreme for wireless networking, mostly with my iphone. Yet, the coverage of the Airport Extreme sucks compared to my old Linksys wireless network. SInce I still have the old 802.11b Access Point, I was able to plug it into an Airport Extreme port and now see the other wireless network on my iPhone. However, I have no idea how to secure the wireless access point on the IMac. I've played around with the network setting, but I don't see the access point, only the airport extreme network.
How can I secure this? How can I make it the primary network for my iphone? Can anyone currently park in my driveway and tap into my network? Or is it technically secure because the airport extreme is secure and the access point plugs into the airport extreme? I called Apple care and they directed me to Linksys. Linksys directed me to Apple without hearing me out. Help.
