I have joined the iMac G5 buying fever and have been offered a good price on an iMac G5 with the following specs:

G5 17" 1.8GHz - Bluetooth/Airport - ComboDrive with 160GB HD with 1.0GB

The only problem is i plan to add a superdrive and sell the combo on eBay, my question is will this void apple's 1 year warranty and stop me being allowed to purchase applecare?

Thanks in Advance,

SHadow;)

I had a similar question regarding the hard drive in my PowerBook. I asked an Applecare rep and he told me it won't void the warranty. However, he told me to be aware of a few things:

1. If you damage the computer in the process of exchanging drives, Apple will not cover the repair.

2. If your replacement drive fails, it is up to you to repair or replace.
