Adding an older Airport Express to our AE network?

Our current home network uses two final-boss A1392 AirPort Express base stations. We need to extend the range for a Ring camera and have access to a 1st generation A1264 AirPort Express base station. Will adding this slow down our internet or introduce compatibility issues?

If you use anything in repeater mode, it can slow down the network.
