I have a 13 inch 2009 2.53 Macbook pro. Will i see a significant speed increase in its operation if I add a SSD and what one do you recommend for that year computer. Right now it has a 320 5400 speed hard drive.

Ive decided to do this rather upgrade to the new 2011 13 MBP or Air. Plan on getting an air when the new refresh happens at he end of this year or when it ever it happens.

PS I guess asking would a SSD make my 17 alot faster than the 320 5400 I have in it? Thanks

For almost any computer, a SSD will greatly enhance performance through faster data transfer speeds. My 2009 13 inch 2.53 is a different machine with a HDD versus a SSD. Worth every single penny

Getting an SSD is one of the kindest things you can do to any relatively modern computer. I put an SSD in my 2009 Air to replace the wee little HDD in it, and it's a whole different machine. It went from 'meh' performance to having my roommate (who has a 27" Quad i7 iMac) saying "Wow, that's fast!"
