Adding music to Apple Music problem.

Can anyone help? I made a back up of my iTunes library and have now left Apple Music. I want to restore my music back into what is now Apple Music but can’t for the life of me do it! I insert the disc and it has all my music there in folders. But I cannot drag them into the Apple Music application? It will say adding files but then but they do not appear? It then says; “The Music Library file cannot be saved”? Why is it so hard to re-import songs that I had on my old Mac into my new one?! Any advise please?

It should work - try dragging the folder to the songs or album icon under library - it should highlight when you hover over the songs or albums icons and import when you release.

Also make sure the Music library is on a writable drive - it shows a CD under devices - make sure your "Music Library.musiclibrary" file is on the internal drive in the music folder

You can check the library location by closing music and holding the option key when opening music - then browse to the library file which normally is in the music folder

the first screen shots had a Catalina desk top( Music App), the second set has Mojave (iTunes App) - which macOS are you trying to get working?

It kinda looks like you went back to iTunes / Mojave? - but I am probably wrong - lol - probably just desktop changes?

also the DVD is probably "Read only" not sure you can run Music or iTunes from that disk ? if you are ? - the music library should have an extension .musiclibrary - and it looks like it is is missing on the screen shots? which is strange

Sorry not all that helpful - jut trying to understand / help - but the drag and drop works ussually on Catalina and Big Sur just like it did on iTunes - so there must be something causing your import problem

Hey Guys, I recently downloaded iOS 14 and I was streaming an album but he didn't stream all the songs?
I didn't download the music? Because I only want to stream it, on my MacBook he streams the album just like he should do it on my iPhone?
