Hello I am new member of MAC. I am trying to add music to my AVI video.

Also , I have taken random videos at my sisters wedding and I would like to take certain small clips of each video and create one video with music .

How would I do this ? I have ILIFE . Would I be able to do this with Imovie?

iMovie is your friend. http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/

Also as the .avi video file is probably using an MPEG-4 codec like Divx or Xvid, it would be best to convert those .avi files with the help of MPEG Streamclip (www.squared5.com) to something you can easily import into iMovie.

You can use MRoogle for finding similar threads to your questions.

And it's Mac not MAC, as MAC commonly stands for Media Access Control, and Mac is short for Macintosh.

So I can do all this from Imovie ?

The .avi file is from my camera. I will convert it. But do I NEED to convert ? is it possible without?

Mac rules.

You can do basic editing jobs within iMovie, cut clips, add music and such things.

If you don't want to convert the .avi file, you could try to import it first of course. And as it is straight from you camera (a photo camera I suppose) it might be even possible as Divx/Xvid are not involved.

If it does not work, you have to convert it to something iMovie accepts.

Also be sure to select the right settings in iMovie.
