Is there any way to add new voices to the text-to-speech group? If so, are there any repositories of voices - Sean Connery in 007 style would be my ideal, but John Cleese would also be workable...

To my knowledge the answer is no. You can add the spanish voices, but thats about it. I can more or less promise you'll never see voices of anyone well known, because thats much more involved than simply creating a voice like what apple has already (which have no variables, every set of letters is pronounced exactly the same each time, this is not true in human speech).
