I recently upgraded my hard drive to a solid state, and the macbook is running much much faster and quieter.
I was thinking of taking the old hard drive I pulled out and adding it back to the computer where the optical bay is on my mid 2012 to have extra storage when needed.
With the new solid state in, the computer is completely quiet now, and I really like that. My questions is, if I add that old non-ssd hard drive to the macbook, will it be running loud like it was previously, or can I turn it off until I need it? If so I will need to put it in an enclosure and use externally.
