It's so simple to backup a mac and erase it's HD, so I did an erase and install with my mac's. Sure enough, all of my bugs and issues have vanished for now. No weird password/username log in issues, no lag in spaces/expose, no crashing or slow apps, and noticeably faster application launch times. I "forced" my mac to run in 64bit mode by holding down the "6" and "4" keys as my mac restarted. So, as far as my experience went with my mac's, I'd recommend an erase and install of SL.
