After years and years of iPhone use I just want to add words to the dictionary, for example hell comes up as he'll etc
Why carnt we add our own words!?

I don't know a way to manually edit the autotype dictionary, but my iPhone has definitely learned new words from me. For example, it knows that I like to type the word "redscull" and will autocorrect my typing to spell it for me when I make a typo. And obviously that's not a real word.

I'd be more interested to know how to unteach the dictionary. I've accidentily taught it some mispelled words that I'd rather it quit autocorrecting my typing to.

Yeh your right mine has learned some words and words I would like to change.
But how has it learned these it picks which ones to learn!?

i swore that we were able to do this on the 4, maybe i'm buggin out.
i was looking for the feature yesterday, actually.

Ha, my brother just taught me how to get it. Weird.

Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards

Tap on Add New Keyboard... and select Japanese (Ten Key) or Chinese - Simplified (Pinyin)

Now, go back one level and you will see Edit User Dictionary...

Create a new contact group called "Dictionary" and add words to that: First name "WinterBoard," last name "Cydia," etc ... works like a charm.
