Hi All,
I've done some searching and saw that the Corsair 2G DDR3 with part # CMSO2GX3M1A1333C9 worked on some of the older iMacs so thought I would get these. They are rated at the desired 1333MHz or PC3 10600 that Apple requires on their support pages.
Installed along side the original Samsung 1333MHz DDR3 and upon reboot received the 3 beeps to indicate an issue with RAM (no good banks), took all modules out and just used the new Corsair RAM and had the same error. I then put the original back in and booted fine.
So my question is was I just unlucky to get some DOA RAM or doesn't the Corsair work in the iMac 12,1? I'm looking at exchanging it on Monday for some Kingston 2G sticks, part # KVR1333D3S9/2G. I've seen some reports of this working in my model iMac.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brett
