I have a first gen iPhone, a MacBook Pro, Mobile Me and a Windows work PC. I want to keep them all in sync, especially my contacts. Yesterday, I added a new doctor to my phone and decided it might be helpful to have a group called Doctors since I sort my contacts by first name. So, since I was at work, I went to MobileMe via the Safari browser on my work PC and created the new group and created the entry for my new doctor. I then added all my doctors to my new group. Strange thing is, while my new group now appears on my phone and my new doctor also appears in the All Contacts list, no doctors appear in the new Doctors group. Later, at home last night, I checked my address book on my Mac and everything looked fine. The new group was there and it contained all my doctors, including the new one.

So, my Mac and my MobileMe are in sync and are working fine, but my iPhone seems to be stuck. I can't get it to show the doctors within the doctors group. It says "No Contacts" when I go to that group. Since I was home, I had synced my iPhone with my Mac (to add new programs) and it went thru yet another lengthy backup (ugh!). But in just this one area, it's still not working right. This morning at work, I went to MobileMe and tried to edit my new doctor's record, just to see if it would get my phone to update itself, but that didn't work. The update to the record was pushed to the phone but the Doctors group is still empty. So, how do I get my doctors to appear in my Doctors group on my iPhone?

I noticed something else a bit odd about the Contacts on my phone. If I go to my Contacts via the Phone icon, my contacts will be on one page (say in my Family group) but if I go to my Contacts using the new Contacts icon, it will open up on a different page (say my All Contacts page). Why wouldn't it be the same? Do they each have their own preferences file? Not a huge deal, but just seems funny to me and of course makes me wonder if I have two address books on my phone (which is crazy, I know).

I should also mention that the Contacts is where I see the most lagtime in terms of performance with my iPhone since upgrading to 2.0. Every time I open my contacts, I have to wait a moment before I can do anything. And it's never clear when the pause is over - I just have to keep pressing stuff till it responds. Hopefully Apple will be fixing that soon cause it's a bit irritating, especially when you are in a hurry.
