Address Book database corrupted

If I try to edit certain contacts in my address book, I get an error message claiming "address book couldn't open database" "address book database is corrupted" I've tried restoring from a time machine backup... no luck. I've also tried deleting address book preference files.. also with no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks.
