So I synced my address book with my google contacts thinking it would make my life easier, and it just made everything worse. At first it worked fine, everything synced. Then I went into google and began merging contacts so their email and phone numbers were on the same card. Every contact that I touched is now gone after I synced again. They didn't get changed in address book.app, they just disappeared.

Luckily I have an address book backup from July. I tried opening that in address book and was prompted with "this will replace all your contacts" which is fine, because I made a september backup right now. When I open the archive, address book goes blank. Then if I quit address book and open it again, it's simply the same September address book that's missing a bunch of contacts I fixed in google.

Please, please let me know how I can fix this situation. Is there any way to make the archive work? Can google read the archive so I can import it into there? The archive is a .abbu file btw.

Thanks please let me know if there's any way I can fix this mess.
