What a disaster that app is, compared to what it was in 10.6...

Has anyone tried translocating the 10.6 version to 10.7, and did it work?

I'm frustrated with the address app in 10.7. It tries so hard to look like a book but fails in so many ways to work like it "should". I use it only rarely as I almost never update a contact sitting in front of my Mac. I almost always input or update contact information on my iPhone or iPad so I can choose to ignore what Apple did to address. That's the best solution I can think of right now. Oh, I did find some "skins" that claimed to bring back some of the old look. They were pretty useless. All they did was replace the leather areas with brushed aluminum. Big whoop.

ah, got it. guess you could try copying the app from someone who has SL.
but..not sure that will work.

a great companion app is buddypop; when i need an address or number, i hit Control-Space (my choice of keys) and a window pops up. i start to type a name, get it's address book info.
i can copy from there, and paste into a doc (or whatever). using this for years!
