Hello guys,

There is a Mac where I work that has Lion installed and the address book is not working well. When I type a name to search for a contact it won't search it... It doesn't do anything...

Any tip to fix this?... thanks!!!

This thread has some possibilities, the one guy found an issue with the address book metadata - his fix is three posts from the bottom on this thread. The people here also talk about other things they tried which might also work for you, if it turns out NOT to be associated with the metadata.

The location of the Address Book metadata on Lion is:

/Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/Metadata

Address book search doesn't work, nor is it syncing with the iCloud

I'm having the same problem. It was working but not now. Won't do a search, nor does it appear to be syncing.

Will try the suggested link when the site is back up. Right now it's doing maintenance :(

UPDATE: Found an easy solution. Backed up address book for safe keeping, go to System Preferences/iCloud/ uncheck the address book, choose delete from Mac, then recheck it and it'll redownload from the iCloud.
Doing so fixed both the syncing issue I was having as well as the Search is now working again!
